How many people bike with their mastiffs out there. Also who is familiar with any mastiffs competing in weight pull? Are the mastiffs of today capable of competing at a high level in either of these activities?

Hoarding on TLC

There is a new television program, reality tv, on hoarding. It airs tonight at 7p.m (mountain time) on TLC.

Hoarding was mentioned to describe Gloria Davis, I know of another Mastiff breeder who could clearly be described as a hoarder as well. She has someone around 19 Mastiffs!!! And certainly does not have the means to care for this large number of dogs.........anyway I just thought it would be an interesting program to watch. Maybe learn something on how these types of people can be helped!

What is the best thing to put on a dry nose?

My Rogue has a dry nose.. looks really bad. Any suggestions on what works well to clear this up? I have tried vasoline - and am currently using Mederma -- I thought about using vitamin E oil. Any suggestions?

As some of you may remember I finally got a Toyota Sienna. We purchased from an out of town dealer.

I've gotten two emails from someone who claims to be from Toyota and wants to have a picture of my husband and I, and our home address, to use in a commercial to counteract the bad publicity Toyota is getting. We also got a call from this person on my husband's unlisted private business only line.

I finally decided to call the dealership and ask what's going on. He said it was not from them AND if it was from the Corporate Office they would all ready know my address.

The guy's last name is "Cronin"...these people are really getting adept at coming up with stories! The email does look legit but isn't!

The dealership said to "be careful" and give them no information whatsoever.
I didn't. Just a heads up for anyone with a Toyota. Could be used for any make of car though.

Introducing Mardi Gras

I just would like to take a moment and introduce our new Ivory mastiff family member,
Rouge River Ivory's Mardi Gras, son of Bon Jovi and Mia, result of crossing Greiner Hall /Storm pedigree with Deer Run pedigree.
8 and half weeks old, fat and sassy! LOL!!! He is wonderful, he feed right in with our routine, slept all night like a log, eat a ton and everything he do, he takes his time and putting a lots of thought into that. Very serious substantial( LOL, 32 pounds) young man.
He loves his name by the way, Mardi : )

Congratulations to Webb, Laura and Owyn who are up in Canada at the Purina National. Owyn has so far taken BOB Friday & Saturday. The Saturday group is formal black tie and televised. The judge was Jean Fournier

Well i picked up Mr Rudy today and he is amazing. He has the best temperament I have seen in a male mastiff in a long time. When his owner met me, he was in her car. I walked up to the window and he shoved his big ole head out the window for a good smell. She let him out and he was nonchalant about me and my son being there. After he took care of his business, i put on his new collar and snapped on his new leash. He didnt even blink. I took him from his owner and he just jumped in my car. Made his self at home and waited to see what else I had to say. I closed the door and gave his mama a great big hug. This was the hardest thing for her to do, but she knew this was best. It was a long time coming and she wanted him in good hands. He came home and the girls really respect him. No drama what so ever. Talk about temperament. EXCELLENT.

He has been the best boy, full of love and so tenderhearted. He gave us beautiful puppies and has been such a joy. We love him very much.

We have our first show of the season coming up in Nebraska!!

I can't believe he is 19 months already!
