Public Service Message / Got Benadryl?

Scary stuff today. My old 9.5 year old lady Bella got stung/bit by something. Thinking back to her behavior this morning she went out to pee and came back inside trying to scratch her privates on the carpet. I kept thinking I should watch her for a UTI. Her privates were now as puffy as if she had been in heat. It was hot but not brutal today. But I she kept panting. Slowly but surely the cause of her distress showed up of all places on her face. I now knew what we were dealing with. At first her eyes appeared a bit puffy. Then her lips and the bridge of her nose swelled as well. I ran for the benadryl but sh*t it expired 4/11 last year. Was not going to risk giving her something that might not work. Was very worried her airway might swell up next. Jumped in the car and sped back and forth from Walmart ( Dear God I hope nobody had a camera ! I was dressed like one of those freak people from Walmart videos with my hair in a Pebbles Flinstone knot and flour all over my clothes and running through the store like an Olympian ) Anyway got 4 capsules down her throat right away. And started doing cold compresses to her swollen eyes. It took a few hours but she is finally sleeping comfortably. I added some cephalexin to the mix to make sure whatever bit her vulva doesn't cause infection.

I highly recommend checking your supply of Benadryl (diphenhydramine generically ) NOW before you need it. Make sure it is in date and plentiful. You can safely give a dose equal to 25mg per 25 pounds of body weight every 6 to 8 hours. An adult mastiff will consume up to 24 capsules in 24 hours. Walmart has bottles of 100 for only $4.

Her beautiful face is so swollen

Prayers needed for Frankie

Last night Frankie took a serious turn for the worse!! He woke up from a nice long nap with one very swollen knee and TONS of pain!!! Couldn't put any weight on that leg at all!! Took him to the ER, they did new xrays and everything is still the same no new injuries and NO torn ACL's! Just lots and lots of fluid on the knee causing tons of pressure and tons of pain for him. He spent the night in the hospital and they kept him sedated from the pain. I picked him up this morning and took him down to my regular Vet where he is currently undergoing a surgical procedure to relieve some of the swelling and pressure and the Vet will better be able to assess his injuries more clearly. If things don't look good for him I will have to say goodbye. This baby is in so much pain its unbearable! I have never had a dog experience this much pain before and I will not let it continue. He's just a baby!! He is such a sweet, sweet special boy and he deserves so much better than this!!!!!

Please keep Frankie in your prayers..........

Stem Cell Supplement

A few weeks ago, a friend of mind told me she was giving her Boston Terrier who had started developing cataracts (age 10) a supplement that a friend of hers had given her. She said that the cataracts began to disappear within a very short time. I know the dog well. I showed him and I've boarded him so I knew he was starting to lose his eyesight and was not nearly as active as he had been. Now he is like his old self again. When I go to her place of business, he jumps all over, runs and gets his ball and insists that I throw it over and over again. I've looked at his eyes and I don't see any cataracts anymore.

It peaked my interested because TunTun (my 10 year old Chihuahua) was developing cataracts too. About 6 months ago he started not wanting to jump up the one little step to come in the house. He'd back up and I'd pick him up and bring him in. I didn't know why because I couldn't see any changes and thought maybe he was getting a little Arthritic but when I mentioned it to a friend, she said it was probably his eyes. Duh..............I should've thought of that. He had lost his depth perception so he just wasn't sure where to jump.

I looked up the product on line and found that StemPets is a product of StemTech a multi level company. Having been through the mill a couple of times with multi level companies, I didn't want to get involved but I wanted to try the product. I told Cindy and she gave me a bottle.

Within one week, TunTun started coming in the house by himself............jumping like a little teeny "hunter-jumper" and he's wanting to play with the big guys. He's playing with toys again. For the past year all he wanted to do was to be on the couch in his donut and sleep. I can't believe this. I bought another bottle and started giving it to my 9 year old Dane bitch and she too is exhibiting lots of energy...........flying out the door and running the fenceline where the cows are.

They have supplements for humans too. I have to read about those and see what I might try.

This is a relatively new company and there is no other product like it on the market.

For those of you who might be interested you can go to http://www.ann7882.stemtech.com and read about it.

For those who aren't, that's fine. Any questions, I'll try to answer them.

I originally got involved in homeopathy because of the dogs and now people as well because it works. So my main interest is the dogs and we'll see what comes next.

Overy the years, I've tried many products as I am sure most of you have and really can't say that anything ever got me this excited.

The supplement is just that. It is not "stem cells". It coaxes your own stem cells to circulate do the job they're supposed to. Excellent explanation of how it works on the site.

A
