We are beside ourselves with excitement and anticipation.
Everywhere I go, people ask me about the puppy. Today, I walked Teddy for a quick few minutes in the incredible heat and 3 people asked about the puppy. We are getting phone calls about the puppy. My relatives are asking about the puppy. My kids' friends and their parents are excited about the puppy.
People are scheduling days and times when they can come over and see the puppy.
Old High School friends are coming out of the woodwork asking when they can see the puppy.
My wife and I are planning a "Meet the Puppy" party.
Everyone wants a piece of this puppy.
Bess is a total celebrity and I don't even have her yet!!!
All this is a testament to my Teddy. Nobody would care about a Mastiff pup like these people do if they hadn't been exposed to such a wonderful Mastiff ambassador. Teddy has shown everyone what Mastiffs are all about. He has so many fans. People are hungry for Bess because of what Teddy has shown them.

Terri,
She will be the subject of many future posts.
You will get to know her, for sure.
If she matures like so many of the dogs in her pedigree (fingers crossed) you will see her in the ring.

H- So excited for you as I sit with my little guy over coffee this morning (he's having breakfast). We had the same experience over this way...Lillie's PM bus driver called to see if we "got the new puppy yet" since Layla met Lillie at the bus each day after school and everyone came off to pet her and back on to go home. Such is the magic of mastiffs!
Hope you have a great trip. When can we come over to see the puppy? Of course, I can wait until kindergarten when the kids will be in class together... but I don't want to! It's so much fun!

I know you will make certain that Teddy knows he is STILL the main man...when we bring in a new pup it is mandatory that everyone greet the older dogs FIRST, then they get to coo over the pup - keeps the older ones from resenting the newcomer, good for the pup (they learn to wait a bit) and the older dogs deserve it...

Good point Erika...almost like kids..when you bring home the new baby making sure the older ones get attention too. It's sure Herb will "fawn' all over Teddy just as much as his new pup. Teddy will always be the man of the house.

I think H needs a sedative...
Since I've never had kids of my own, bringing a new puppy home is like bringing home a new baby. You worry about whether the others will accept the newcomer, but my guys have always been very accepting - just part of the routine every couple of years. The current pack members get more privileges and special one-on-one time and the puppy gets a lot of socialization and cuddling. Ugh, I'm soooo happy and jealous at the same time!
I can't wait to meet her but will be satisfied with pics for now. Oh, and H, if Linda is bringing two males, you know what to do... (I'm totally kidding and would never steal or pay someone to steal a puppy...so don't worry.)
