Hi everyone! I might be acting crazy about this but the last thing I want is my boy to be overweight and have health issues because of it. So, I took my boy to the vet today to get weighed, then we stopped at the pet store to get food, and while I was there some guy started talking to me about my pup and asked me how old he was and how much he weighed. And as soon as I told him my pup was 7months and 135lbs, he started lecturing me that he was too heavy for his age and I should put him on a diet immediately, and how he use to own a mastiff so he knows. Now I don't know Bc my boy is my first mastiff, so should I be concerned? He seems to be gaining 5lbs a week, but to me he don't look overweight at all. And I take him for a long walk once a day, everyday so he's active. Here is a pic of my boy and let me know what you's think. Thank you!

He looks fine in the photo. Not everyone you might encounter in a pet food store is knowledgeable about the growth patterns of a Mastiff pup. I think you should trust your breeder's opinion, as well as your veterinarian, to help provide you knowledgeable guidance, since they know the breed. Input from the forum members here is also reliable since there is lots of breed-specific knowledge here.  Good luck and enjoy your growing boy!
