How about some pictures for the longest tongue?

We do not breed often, but we do our best to breed top quality mastiffs
with excellent pedigrees to back them up. All breedings are carefully planned to produce
the very best mastiffs, sound in both body and mind, beautiful and strong,
representing the true mastiff standard.

We fully test our dogs. We believe that a person that "just wants a pet" has a right
to own a beautiful, well bred dog that is sound and healthy
every bit as much as someone wanting a "show dog".

I know this is not the longest tongue, but I thought of this picture when I saw this post. Here is my baby Zaria, mid yawn.

OOO I wish I would have read this thread before I took Cooper's friend home.  I swear she had the longest tongue in history.  The thing hangs out of her mouth probably 2 inches....with her mouth closed!  When you scratch her butt she does the lizard tongue thing....it hilarious!  I'll try to get a pic of it when I see her next week.

Jann, that is absolutely hysterical!!!  I needed a good laugh today!!  - that is one long tongue.

I can receive emails but can't send out...  Whatever you do  DON'T sign up for direcway/hughes contrary to my previous suggestions..... It has been a nightmare for the last week (they were bought out) and I am buying an entirely new system which is being installed tomorrow (Wild Blue).  I am on dial up right now and it is VERY slow.  Can't reply to any emails and half the time I get kicked from this board when I am viewing.  Who's in your Avatar??

Hi Monica,

Uh oh!  I just signed up for Hughesnet yesterday.  It's being installed in about a week.  I'm so tired of dial up I can hardly stand it any more.  Sounds like I might be making a mistake.  The avatar is a close up of Vegas.  Nell is her grandmother, but luckily Vegas didn't inherit her tounge.

Shame on me Jann, I should have known that was Vegas!

Not to worry about the hughes. Hopefully you got the 7000 modems.  The problem for us was that we had the 4000 modems, the old software and no one ever emailed to tell us that there was new stuff....  Then we started having problems and well, you get the guys in India after holding for 30 minutes and they are great and nice, but don't always know how to help.... I'm sure you will be fine and we would have also if we had upgraded, but the upgrade would have cost as much as going with Wild Blue - we did this because Wild Blue has some features that you don't get thru Hughes.

And - everyone - I know this is a thread about tongues.  I am so sorry - have pitty on this gal who lives on her email and cannot write anyone back...I promise to only type about doggies from here on out :-)

Here's a picture of me and Buford just waking up from a nap.  Not the longest tongue, but definitely big.  He was about 8 months old there.

Deb, That is so funny. My Samantha can't do that because she is to busy snoring. One thing she does do is when she exhales her lips flap.

Hahaha- I agree - those tongue pics of Jann's are unbeatable!

While not exceptionally long - Digger's tongue is almost ALWAYS sticking out!

Nell is over 10 years old now, and I think her tounge has continued to grow all these years.  The one's posted are when she was younger.  I'll try to get a current picture of her.  All the pictures are so cute - what a great breed we all have.

Here are a couple recent pictures of Nell.  As you can see, she is able to control that tongue of her at times.....  Nell lives with and is loved by Randy and Lauri Theison and they provided these great pictures.

Jann,

I remember Nell's tongue, we got to meet her at Lauri & Randy's when we picked up Lola.  It was very impressive!

Angie isn't it funny how the tongue is like a dried prune when they first wake and it takes a while to get hydrated and back into place.  I'm cracking up at all the pics.

Jann,

Lola's doing great!  We can finally feel her bonding to us, and that's SO rewarding.  She is finally comfortable on the leash, and is doing well with her training. Pugs are still adjusting, but we're all a happy family :

Oh, Jann...Was Barbara House showing Nell up here in the NW??  I have video of her showing a fawn bitch who had the LONGEST tongue any of us had ever seen.  She would literally roll it up...poke it in her mouth...hold the mouth shut...so the judge could check her bite.  And no sooner did the judge lift her lip to see the teeth then out would pop the tongue!  It was priceless!  If I remember correctly she gave her a toy or something to hold sometimes???  (Or was that another dog??  Who knows...the memory is shot!  LOL)
