these are all quality puppies but I think it's a good idea to tell people (newbies) exactly what we are looking at:

Broad muzzles
Dark eyes
Level topline
tail set
ribs
ear set (how to tell how whether the ears will be placed correctly when fully that pups becomes an adult)

Don't forget temperment: sire and dam, the puppy whether shy, outgoing or runs away from you....that sort of thing.

Now I didn't pick out my own puppy so I just wanted all of you to tell us what you look for/or look at specificially.

Thanks! I am very proud of her. I recently bred Dandee again for the last time through AI to Carison's Goliath out of Greene Mountain Mastiffs. I do her pregnancy test next week to see if the AI took and I hope to produce some amazing babies from that breeding as well (and hopefully more than 1)

Thanks for the nice comments about the kiddos. Yes that brindle has a mind of her own and almost always heads the opposite from the boys. She is almost house trained and they could care less. So far I don't have any sold--everyone that contacted me wanted the brindle girl. I really want to find a show home for the fawn boy. Kathleen suggested naming him Magdalene's Silver Streak and call name Wilder and it fits him--he is one crazy guy. I think I should name him that for Kathleen loving him so much!!

We do not breed often, but we do our best to breed top quality mastiffs
with excellent pedigrees to back them up. All breedings are carefully planned to produce
the very best mastiffs, sound in both body and mind, beautiful and strong,
representing the true mastiff standard.

We fully test our dogs. We believe that a person that "just wants a pet" has a right
to own a beautiful, well bred dog that is sound and healthy
every bit as much as someone wanting a "show dog".

Just an observation.
Not all puppies/lines grow at the same rate.
At 8 weeks, my pups are generally small as compared to most that I see, but they all end up quite normal sized.
I've had very, very tiny ones in litters, who have ended up quite normally, as well. (They were half the size of their littermates!)
I worry about some of the fat/obese puppies that I sometimes see. IMO many times it is not healthy, and I am always fearful of puppy owners trying to stuff them with food to make them grow larger.
I never weigh puppies any more; I do not provide weights to my puppy buyers; I do not compare weights with other puppies. Far too many people grossly exaggerate the weights of their dogs/puppies.
I haven't had a case of CHD in well over a decade; and have never had elbow dysplasia, pano, or OCD. (Touch wood as I knock on my head - LOL!!)
These are 2 babies from my last litter - Benson (brindle) and Carnoustie out of AM/Cd/Int Ch Newgate's Spectacular Vn Eva x Cd Ch Banda's Two Pence Worth, CGN
