So sorry to hear, Susan.
It is so very difficult to lose one so young.

Don and I wanted to tell everyone we have heard from how much it means to us to have a mastiff community--we love all of you. Thanks for the phone calls, e-mails, wishes and prayers.

Maggie had multiple orthopedic issues that were affecting her quality of life. I made the decision to let her go with dignity and while still able to walk on her own. She went down hill very rapidly and it was the hardest decision of my life. But I know it was the right thing to do to ease her pain.

Please people test all your dogs. Use the tools available. Do not breed without testing, and if you do--shame on you.

Maggie's parents are health award winners and still shit happens. Linebreeding brings out the strengths and once in awhile the stars don't align properly and shit happens. Again thanks for all the thoughts and wishes for our dear girl.---sincerely--susan

We do not breed often, but we do our best to breed top quality mastiffs
with excellent pedigrees to back them up. All breedings are carefully planned to produce
the very best mastiffs, sound in both body and mind, beautiful and strong,
representing the true mastiff standard.

We fully test our dogs. We believe that a person that "just wants a pet" has a right
to own a beautiful, well bred dog that is sound and healthy
every bit as much as someone wanting a "show dog".

Linda What do you think of Miss stripey butt---I love her pattern and not sure who's face she has--for a while she looked like Rogue but now maybe one of her grandparents. I should have had Don stack her but we were just out for a walk and I had the camera, so quick shots.

Thanks for the nice comments. For some reason my flash didn't go off for the Halloween pics. It was a hoot--Casey, 3, kept saying "I'm A Knight" every two minutes and said to every house they went to. Cameron, 8, took off his patch for his left eye, as Caitlyn, 2, cried everytime he put it on.
He had cornea transplants at 14 and 15 months and has limited vision in the left eye so a patch wouldn't bother him to wear. But we have been so blessed that they healed well and he has good vision in the right eye. They had so much fun and I was shocked at the amount of candy they got for a town of 250 people.

Kathleen thanks for enlarging those pics--it shows Mariska's sniffing for rabbits boogers LOLLOL---but the profile shot I want to make a large print of.

Awwww Maureen you know that's the one that stole my heart. We are so glad to have Mariska, she is sweet, loveable and so good with the grandkids and school kids when we go for visits. Can't believe she and her litter mates are almost four. Thanks for posting that one!

Andrew thanks for your kind words. We miss Maggie on a daily basis, she was a silly girl.

It was a party for 10 LOL! It was going ok till the bassethound kept trying to knock the platters out of my hands before I could get the plates set down--OMG that would have been chaos then....the way it was it all went smooth but fast--Don trying to get pictures was all at once. Big Huey was so funny with his cupcake hanging out of his mouth--silly old love bug!

Yes we have 3 Hummer/Mariska babies available--have one apricot girl, Saussie, and one fawn girl, Charlotte, and my hunky male did not go to Peru so Hondo is available as well.

I am keeping two babies, apricot Morgana, and fawn Isadora, so it was five babies and five big dogs partying, well if you want to count the bassethound and the gordon setter cross as big dogs.

Hondo has a brother, Wilbur, that I shipped to Chicago on July 15th. He lives on the north side by the lake and has a new best friend an 8 year old boy. If you are serious just e-mail me.....yes two would sure take up a bed in a few months--Hondo weighs about 77 pounds. Hondo has the orange collar in any pictures.

I am crying while I even looked through this thread....we lost Magdalenes Orange Marmalade--Leah---our beautiful brindle girl on December eighth. She was the last of our first litter Rogue/Mariska. She would have turned nine in February. So many people have lost mastiffs in the last few weeks. She had cancer that had moved through her bones.
