A friend of mine emailed me a link for a dog ad in Wisconsin and I'd hate to see this girl go to someone who's inexperienced with mastiffs and/or breeding. The ad was posted about a week ago and it's for a pregnant brindle female. Hopefully someone in that area who has the means to care for her and her pups will be interested:

RUN! DON'T buy.
Didn't have the money to keep her huh? Then why the hell did she get bred? Prove that she was bred to a decent stud dog. Vet records, OFA records, etc. Almost makes one want to buy the poor bitch just to save her.

Yep. It's kind of a catch 22. Most people with the means and experience to handle the situation wouldn't want to touch it with a 10ft pole and those who would be willing to pay $2000 for her probably aren't the people with the means/experience to handle it. Hopefully someone in her area can talk the owner into surrendering the dog to those who CAN handle it.

Beware of Craigslist Ads. Seriously. Many are from good people but some aren't.
There have been cases of people robbed at gun point when they show up with their money to buy something. One young woman answered a Nanny Wanted Ad and someone killed her. Just saying to be careful.
I understand having dire circumstances but if that's the case why did they bred her? It costs additional money to whelp the litter and bring it to eight weeks of age.

3 years old--CKC registered--135 lbs. Had 15 puppies last year--Ok enough seen. This person has bred her--and now can't raise puppies--so she want to "sell" her to someone else. You can bet the farm there is more to the story.

let's just say someone buys her. $2,000 purchase price She needs a C-Section $2,000 (maybe more?) Care of pups and Mom $1,000 (formula, bed, blankets, etc.) Lack of sleep for you $priceless
Then, after a few months you spay the female since she has had enough puppies. $$ Then you (the buyer) get to deal with the puppy buyers which could give you a nervous break down before you're through. People have no idea what breeders go through..until they do it themselves.
I feel sorry for the bitch. Pregnant and to be sold to strangers at three years of age.
