she just turned 1...she weighs 141...when she assumes poop position, her hind end starts giving her issues...her back legs shake alittle and she has to sit down for 20-30 seconds. it doesnt only happen when she assumes that position but that seems to aggravate it. Xrays look normal...she has been on anti inflamatory for a week,,,vet just upped dosage and gave her another scrip for nerve. said give it this week and if not any better, see a specialist...stool is soft and normal as is her pee. seems to me it is nerve/joint issue...she doesn't yelp with pain and is in a playful mood most of time.....it bothers her when she is eating alittle also. vet also said she didnt think it was diet or growing pains but they may not be experienced with english mastiffs...we used to play tug of war with a rope and i have stopped that

are you in an area of tick diseases? if so I would suggest having some blood drawn and check for the tick diseases....also add vitamin c and gloucosamine/chodroitin to her diet........talk also to her breeder and see if they had tested their line for hereditary conditions......did the vet examine her paws or have you to make sure she doesn't have something stuck up in the deep area of the paw.....even a cheat grass seed can work into the foot making one paw sore so they try to put more weight on the other and end up looking shakey......how is she when she walks....any knee issues on either side...there again they throw off their balance attempting to ease the pain if they have stressed a knee while playing or being the lovable goofs that they are.

Breeder is reputable. .Says nothing genetic. ..walks and plays fine most of time. ...this is going on 3 weeks now. ..not getting any worse...may be getting only slightly better. ..hit and miss. ..mostly when she goes. ..sometimes she makes it back in before having to sit though lately .No blood work yet although vet did say she wanted to for tick I think my wife said...we have an appointment with a very reputable vet early next week ...Wanted to try him based on recommendations from other mastiff owners around here that I know...

hopefully she has just stressed it playing....I would get the tick tests and maybe keep her calm and not too active for a week and see if it improves with resting....good luck with that ......they are such crazy goofs at that age....make sure she is on adult food in case it is because of too much protein.....look at the thread about Patty Groppetti's pano diet here on the forum....best of luck with her, they are such joyous dogs

She seems to be getting better...2 days of not having to sit after bathroom..... keeping her separated from other dog and humans and trying to keep her calm. Doc said if she wasn't showing signs of recovery within 3 weeks, that she may need a 5- to 6000.00 surgery.... she seems to be getting better thank goodness
